Dictionary With Attitude
by Max Makin Vice Chair of Llandudno Writers Club
A piece for two voices.
Dictionary: Not again! How many more times will you open me up?
Max: Oh hundreds. There are hundreds of words I still don't know about.
Dictionary: Well every time you turn my pages they get more tatty.
Face Value a short story
by Brian Lux Secretary of Llandudno Writers Club
Mark entered his surgery, carefully washed his hands, and donned a pair of latex gloves. Sitting on his stool he tried to control the mounting panic, then nodded to his dental nurse.
"Right Jenny, let the tournament begin."
She smiled, gave the thumbs up signal, and called the first patient on the intercom. The door opened and a dark haired woman and her son entered. She averted her eyes, busying herself with taking off her son's coat.
That's right, thought Mark. Anything to avoid looking at me. Not like your lad. He's hypnotised with my appearance.
Once A Triangle
a short story
by Janet Haworth
Chairperson Llandudno Writers Club
I had been assigned to number 3 triangle and there I would stay. As far as I remember there were no opportunities for promotion. It was in percussion bands career terms, a dead end.
